This Privacy Policy describes how NextNav (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome Extension. We are committed to ensuring your privacy is protected and strictly adhere to the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our core bookmarking functionality, we collect and process the following data:

User Preferences & Credentials: We store your custom backend server URL, API authentication token, and UI preferences (such as Dark Mode settings).
Webpage Data: When you explicitly click the extension icon or trigger a save action, we temporarily access the active tab to extract its URL, page title, and meta description.

2. How We Store Your Information

Local Storage: Your server URL, API token, and UI preferences are securely stored locally on your device using Chrome’s storage.local API. We do not sync this sensitive data to any third-party cloud servers.
No Background Tracking: We only extract webpage data (URL, title, description) at the exact moment you choose to save a bookmark. We do not monitor, track, or record your browsing history in the background.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used for a single, strictly defined purpose:

To authenticate with your configured backend server.
To send the extracted webpage data (URL, title, and description) to your specific server so it can be saved as a bookmark.

We respect your privacy. NextNav does not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data, credentials, or browsing habits with any third parties. Your webpage data is transmitted directly and exclusively to the server endpoint you have manually configured in the extension settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Effective Date”.
